So the kids had to go the doctors, yet again, today. Stupid sinus infections..........anyways! I asked the doctor if we could do Taylors 1 year shots, along with the kids' second dose of the H1N1 vaccine. She said sure! (I love Dr. Kirmani!!) So they bring in the shots for the boys, but didn't bring in Sarah's vaccine. (They didn't have the nasal mist kind, so they had to do shots) So the nurse says she will do the boys' shots, and then go get Sarah's. So I thought it was wise of me to put Luke up on the table first, for his shots, so he didn't see Taylor crying after his 4 shots, and freak out about his 1 shot. It worked! He didn't cry until he got the shot. YEA MOMMY! Then Tank got his shots. He again did great! Cried and was really mad at me for it, but generally ok. He wouldn't let me hold him for about 10 minutes. Butt-head.
The nurse left to get Sarah's shot. Sarah had found out she was getting a shot and wasn't very happy about it. She looked at me and said, "Mommy, I am NOT getting a shot. I will not do it!" To add to the mental image, she was stamping her foot every time she said "not".I told her, "It's ok! It doesn't hurt that much! You can be brave." She told me, "It's NOT OK! I'm very disappointed in you!", again stamping her foot at NOT.
Finally the nurse walks in with Sarah's shot. Sarah runs past her, behind me, and backs herself in the corner, between the table and the chairs. I walk to her and she SCREAMS! I pick her up and sit her on the table. I held her face and told her to listen and it's ok. She kicked me. I guess she didn't believe it. The nurse told me that she had to do it in her leg. So I layed Sarah down and tried to pull her pants down. Sarah flailed like a caught fish. The nurse had to go ask for help to hold her down. The other nurse walked in and her eyes got as big as saucers. Sarah's legs were in the air kicking, while I'm trying to pull her pants down and the nurse is trying to hold her arms so she doesn't fall off the table! It was a sight.
I got her pants down and then kinda layed on her a little. I held her face and kept telling her, calmly, to look at me, as if I had something calming and important to say. I didn't. I figured out not to say "it's ok" finally. So I kept telling her to look at me. As I did, she calmed down! Wow! Meanwhile, the nurse gave her her shot. She didn't even scream at that. The nurse said, "Ok! All done!" Then Sarah screamed. She's a little delayed. She went on and on and on and on and on. She picked out her 2 toys from the treasure chest, angrily, mind you, along with Taylor and Luke, and we left.
We got loaded in the car, and she cried more and lectured me about everything! I got lectured about being a good mommy, about being healthy, about hurting people, about lying...........I even got lectured about having the right suckers at the doctors! I'm much smarter now, thanks to her. For all you doctors out there: You're only allowed to have pink and purple princess suckers. The other ones make her mad.
The moral of the story, I won and she lost. HA! VICTORY! (Triumphant theme music playing in my head right now)

Great job Laurie! It is a great way to keep people updated. I can't believe how big Taylor is now. he is such a cutie!
Hey! It works now! NICE!!! Welcome to the blogging world!
haha!! She's such a little whipper-snapper :) Love the stomping of the foot and also telling you off. FUNNY!
I think it is so funny that Luke and Sarah's reactions were anger as opposed to hurt. I am glad you now know your stuff (like don't forget the pink and purple "princess" lollipops next time--LOL!).
