Unit #4 and Other Updates

Lots of things have been happening this month (none of which have involved me, I'm sure). I've been in bed for about a month, and when not in bed, in the bathroom throwing up whatever I had managed to just eat or drink. Everything made me nausiated, even getting on the dang computer! So, this will have to take care of all of the updates for now.

Taylor has been doing amazing, aside from his frequent ear infection battles and teething. He is getting so big (I know, shocking! He was already gigantor baby), and he's talking up a storm. He can't say much yet, but he can jabber your ear off. HA! He has turned into quite the snuggler, especially me, which I LOVE! He has gotten into giving eskimo kisses and giving kisses on the lips. And the boy is definitely not a shy one. He loves to say hi and bye to EVERYONE. We have noticed, even more lately, that he has a real love for animals. He is so gentle and sweet with all the animals that he sees, including bugs. Gross. He doesn't do the typical baby thing and poke and hit them, he says "AWWW" and then pets them so gently. It's amazing! However, with all this sweetness, my little tank is still as stubborn as ever, along with a bully to his OLDER brother. We are working on not hitting people, which, I am losing the battle, especially when it comes to hitting Luke. Sarah hits him back. HA! I cant' blame her.

Luke is still just a sweet boy. Same as always. He is super concerned with the baby in my belly. Every night he asks me about the baby in my tummy and when it will get out, so I will feel better. He used to think there was a baby in his tummy too, but he informed me 2 weeks ago, that his baby is sleeping. Apparently, it hasn't woken up yet. HA! I feel bad for Luke, because he is so quiet and so sweet, that he gets over looked sometimes. Not as much snuggles for him, because he doesn't demand them like the other 2 kids. If he gets into trouble, he has a nervous smile on his face when you're scolding him. Like he's trying not to cry, and so he smiles to hold it in. Makes me feel so bad. But I've been trying to do more with him and pay attention to him a bit more lately. We'll see if that helps. Also, with his sweetness, comes his stubborn-ness. If he doesn't want to do something, no amount of spankings or taking this away will change that. Drives Allan and I up a wall. He just doesn't care what you do to him, he's just not going to do it! Wonder where he gets that from...........

Then there's Sarah. She's getting ready to start kindergarten on August 30. She is getting so big and so smart, and turning into a pretty little girl. She is now up to 3 teeth gone, and is working on her 4th (the 2 top front, and the 2 bottom front). I'm thinking she'll lose the 4th before school starts for her. Won't that make a funny school picture? HA! She is learning to write, even though she's doing it backwards, writing right to left, and her E's are always backwards. But she's figuring it out. She is trying to be a big helper to me, since I've been feeling yucky. She has even taken up potty training Luke! It's pretty funny to watch her get him to do it and then give him 1 treat while she gives herself 5. She has even learned to put his diaper on him when she's done. It doesn't always stay on, but she's got the general idea. What more could I want! She is so excited about everything that happens, and still cannot control the volume of her voice. She yells everything......thinking that she's talking quietly. And the biggest thing that hasn't changed...........she cannot stop talking! She still talks morning, noon and night, even in her sleep. It's cute in the morning, but by the time the night comes, I'm looking for duct tape.

Unit #4, we're not sure really any updates, besides the little gummy bear has certainly gotten bigger and is a mover like it's siblings. We don't get a long. I want a cheeseburger and some Taco Bell, and it wants carrots and grapes and watermelon. WHAT THE HECK! So I eat Taco Bell anyways, cause I'm the boss. My house my rules! But it fights back with nausea and vomiting. Jerk. We went to the doctors today and she gave us another CD of ultrasound photo's, and some video's of the little thing bumpin around in there. It's so neat! Here's the link to it: http://picasaweb.google.com/LaurieRogers/Unit4?authkey=Gv1sRgCL602Lm51_TfIQ&feat=directlink

Allan is still hoping for a girl.........whereas, I'm hoping to never be pregnant again! And the biggest, funnest news of all, is............................................... My brother and sister-in-law, Lincoln and Cecilia are expecting their first baby! They are about a month behind us, and so it's pretty exciting to be able to talk to them about what's going on with Cecilia and stuff like that. Fun to watch them learn everything we had to learn the first time. We knew it all and knew what to do............then we found out quickly, we had no idea what the heck was going on and what we were doing! HA! Then it all freaked us out. HA! Now that we're working on #4, we've learned, "it doesn't matter so much how the baby gets here, it matters what you do after the baby is born", as said by my genius husband. It's so true. Of course it does matter how the baby gets here, eating healthy and prenatal care and such, but if everything is good.........mostly it matters how you raise your baby once it's in the world. We are excited to welcome this new one into our family, and can't wait to see how this little one's personality will fit in.

I hope I'll be back on soon with some updates and posts, but the nausea comes and goes, so no guarantee's. HA!

Sounds like you guys are doing great! (well, except for the sickness part). It's nice to hear an update. I was just thinking of you today and wondering how you were doing.

I am so sorry you are still so sick. Taralee and I can have the ultimate compassion for that! I am glad that the kids are doing well and pray you will feel a little better soon.
