Marchant Reception

I am only a few titles....wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, tutor, referee, taxi driver, chef, housekeeper.... Wedding photographer was never on the list, clearly. HAHA! However, Allan's cousin, Kristen, contacted me and asked if I would be willing to photograph their wedding reception. I immediately sent her names and information for about 5 different photographers that I know of that are amazing wedding photographers, and said, "if they can't do it, I would be more than happy to help out." Photographing weddings is a lot, a lot, a lot of work. Not only is it a lot of time the day of the event, but the work put into the photos afterwards is mind blowing! It also requires some specific skills that not every photographer has. The same could be said about all genres of photography! I haven't done a reception in a very long time, so I wasn't confident in my skills enough to pull off something like this in the way they were wanting, and in a way I would be proud of. I was pretty sure one of the other photographers could do it too, so I didn't sweat it, but........I was wrong, as I usually am. HA! I was it to photograph this event, and shakin in my boots. But, after it was all said and done, I had the most amazing time photographing this special event! I am proud of the work I did, what I was able to give this beautiful couple.

The lighting couldn't have been more perfect! I loved that you really got to know their style through the decor. Simple, elegant, with a bit of glam and sparkle mixed in. It was stunning.

I have always respected photographers of each genre. This experience has given me a whole new respect, and love, for each one of my wedding photographer friends, and the love and hours of hard work that they put into each event they shoot. And, I kind of understand why they love it now, too. HA!

I am so happy that I was able to photograph this wonderful reception for this beautiful couple. It was an amazing experience, and I loved every second of it!! Congratulations Logan and Kristen!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
