Fantastic Mr. Fox Strikes the Rogers' House
So, if you have seen Fantastic Mr. Fox yet, you know that it's a strange kid-ish movie. It's silly and funny, but I think more for older kids, 8 or 9. Allan disagree's. It's a pretty clever movie. One thing in it that is either a positive or a negative is that there is no foul language of any kind. Not even a word that resembles a swear word like, "dang it" or "crap" or "shoot". Nadda. Instead of using any bad words or words like bad words, they insert the word "cuss". There is a part in the movie where Mr. Fox and another character are arguing, and they use "cuss" in all of the spots of this argument that you would normally put any of the above words.
So my husband has gotten the kids addicted to this movie. They think it is the funniest movie, along with The Princess and the Frog (because they talk about mucus, ugh).
So we are sitting at the dinner table, and I was getting annoyed with Sarah that she just kept talking and talking and talking...........and talking, and not eating. We had to leave right after dinner to go to the Rogers' Cousins FHE, and she wasn't eating! So I told her to stop talking and eat! She looks at me, very seriously, and says, "Mommy, are you cussin' with me?"
Allan laughed so hard he turned purple. I think he may have been choking on his grilled cheese sandwich. Either way, he was having a good time. I was soooooo furious that she had even said it, had no idea what it meant, but said it. And then it made me even more furious that that man was laughing about it!
On the way to the FHE, I found out that Allan is actually using the lines in his meetings at work. No one gets it but him, but he thinks they are hilarious.
I got over it. Mr. Fox may have to be deleted from the tivo computer accidentally. Too bad. It is a clever movie. George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Owen Wilson do a bang up job. Adults, you can rent it, and you will probably laugh pretty hard, but really. Wow. HA!
Only in our house..........

I am glad for the heads-up about the "cuss" thing. That would bother me too!
Abby loves that movie!! I thought it was odd, but it is totally Ben's sense of humor.
