More House Stuff

Well, Allan and I looked at 2 houses on Saturday, that we got offers accepted for. The first house was at Blue Diamond and Decatur. It was a gorgeous house. it was 2400 sq. ft, with a lot size of 5600 sq. ft. It was beautiful. The inside, however, was just eh. It was a huge house, sure, but that's a lot of space for us. It had a huge living room, with a double sided fireplace. That looked into the family room. Both rooms were HUGE. Too huge. Not only that, not painted. Had really ugly flat paint on it. The cabinets were exactly what I wanted though. Dark cherry wood. Also, the neighborhood was OK. You could tell it was a neighborhood that could go either way. However, Lincoln had told us that it probably wasn't going to appraise for the price they were selling it for, and would probably miss it by $10-12,000. So we contacted the seller, and they refused to lower the price if it didn't appraise for the selling price. So we refused to buy the home.

The second house, was a house at Flamingo and 215. It was a beautiful home. The house was 2,000 sq ft, and the lot size was a little bit more than 4,000 sq ft. It is about 10 years old, rather than the first one, which was 3 years old. This house is being sold by the original owner, and we found out that they are moving to California immediately, so they want the house sold now. The house is move-in ready, including being painted,  carpets cleaned, everything fabulous. Sure, there are some things I didn't like about the home. I hated the shower, needs a new one put in, and I didn't really like the cabinets that they had. Not a huge fan of the carpet color...........BUT, those are all cosmetic things. I can change those with a few visits to Home Depot. The neighborhood is quiet and established, and surrounds an elementary school. The rooms in the house are HUGE. There are 2 master bedrooms in the house, a huge bedroom regular bedroom, and a normal size bedroom. Not only that, there is no wasted space inside of the house, that we have no idea what we'd do with. Plus, the back and front yards are already landscaped............BEAUTIFULLY!

So if you haven't guessed by now, we decided to go forward with the second house. It is far from my friends that I love so dearly, but, it's only 15 minutes away, and if they are really friends, they'd be willing to at least meet me in the middle or I'll go there one time, and they'll come to me one time. I'm sad to leave my ward, because I feel so at home in this ward. I have a calling that I love, even though I feel that I'm not that great at it, but I'm learning. I'm also extremely sad that Sarah won't be able to start Kindergarten with Halle. She was soooo excited to go to school with her, but instead, she doesn't get to. I feel so bad that she won't get to. I told her that she is gonna go to a different school now, and she said she didn't want to go without Halle, because she was scared. My poor girl. But, I'm glad that she will only have to do this once.......for a long time..........I hope. I hope never moving again, but I can't guarantee that.

So we are so excited to open escrow on Monday and get everything going. Hopefully, nothing nuts happens and then we won't be able to buy the house. So far, we're good. We are pre-approved already, and the offer got accepted before we even got to see the house, so no fear of falling in love with a house that we cannot even get accepted for. I'm so excited about it. I feel like a grown up now. HA! You'd think 3 kids would've done that for me, but apparently not. HA!

Here are some pictures of the house.

I will keep you all posted of what's going on with the house. I am so excited, but anything can happen, so I'm trying really hard not to get too excited. If this is meant to be, it will happen. It needs new appliances, eventually, but for now, these will be just perfect, so we're excited to get started on everything. Wish us luck!! Say some prayers!

Congrats and good luck. You'll have to give us some house buying tips. Maybe we'll be able to see the new house when we come visit.
